Man Utd is targeting Eddie Howe as a manager.
According to reports, Eddie Howe, the manager of Newcastle United, is “tempted” to join Manchester United and is sure he can turn things around at Old Trafford.
Despite the problems Erik ten Hag’s team has been dealing with lately, Howe will be seriously contemplating the chance to further in his career by joining the Red Devils, according to former Man Utd assistant manager and head scout Mick Brown.
In an interview with Football Insider, Brown stated, “I’ve heard he’d be tempted by the opportunity.”
“That offer would entice anyone, regardless of the club’s current circumstances.
“It’s one of the biggest clubs in the world and a terrific location to be, but there are some serious issues that need to be fixed.
The public would support Howe if he supported himself in resolving some of those issues, in my opinion.
He has a stellar reputation. Although I haven’t dealt with him directly, I’ve only heard positive things about him and his leadership.
Don’t miss: Man Utd’s sale stance is exposed, and three European powerhouses are now competing for Marcus Rashford.
One of the Man Utd candidates is Eddie Howe.
Ten Hag is still under a lot of strain even though he was spared during the last international break. According to sources who spoke to TEAMtalk, the Dutchman will be fired if his performance does not improve by the time of the next international break, which is in mid-November.
That won’t be inexpensive, though, as it has been reported that Manchester United may need to spend up to £17 million (€20 million or $22 million) to let go of Ten Hag.
Howe, who has been shortlisted along Thomas Frank, Edin Terzic, and Graham Potter, is a serious candidate to succeed Ten Hag. By stating that he does not anticipate managing for another year, Gareth Southgate has eliminated himself from consideration.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe, a co-owner of Manchester United, supports Howe and is keen to name one of the top British managers in the future. Additionally, even if this infuriates Newcastle, TEAMtalk reported last week that the English coach will give any offer from Manchester United serious attention.
In previous years, Howe has been strongly linked to the England position; however, on January 1, Thomas Tuchel will join the Three Lions, allowing Manchester United to take over.
Given that the former Bournemouth manager has apparently had a falling out with Newcastle sporting director Paul Mitchell over transfers, Ratcliffe and company will think they have a decent chance of acquiring him.
However, in order to free Howe from his Newcastle contract, which is rumored to last until June 2027, Manchester United will probably need to pay a significant compensation sum.
Although there are indications that the 46-year-old may accompany sporting director Dan Ashworth to Old Trafford, Newcastle will struggle to cling onto him.

Five Manchester United players are in grave danger of being fired in 2025, according to TEAMtalk.
Offers for Antony, Altay Bayindir, Casemiro, Harry Maguire, and Victor Lindelof will be taken by consideration by Manchester United’s management.
These exits will generate revenue and free up salary space for Manchester United to sign more young, gifted players.
Adam Wharton of Crystal Palace is a clear goal to strengthen their midfield ranks, and they are searching for younger defenders to take the role of Maguire and Lindelof.
Bayindir is no longer required because Man Utd also wants to promote a goalkeeper from the youth system to the first squad.
Ronald Araujo of Barcelona has once again been linked to Manchester United, who could make a huge defensive acquisition in 2025, according to CaughtOffside.
The center-back signed a new deal with Barcelona in 2022, turning down offers from teams like Manchester United and Bayern Munich.
However, negotiations for an extension have stagnated, and that agreement only expires in June 2026. Chelsea has joined Manchester United in monitoring the Uruguayan’s condition.
