Spain boss Luis Enrique is reportedly being considered by the Manchester United board as a potential replacement for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The Red Devils are said to be preparing to change their head coach, with Leicester City chief Brendan Rodgers pinpointed as the leading candidate for the position at Old Trafford.

However, according to a report from the Manchester Evening News, senior figures at the Theatre of Dreams ‘are impressed’ by the Spaniard, who has just secured his country’s position at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The 51-year-old tactician started his managerial career at the La Liga giants Barcelona’s B team before taking charge of AS Roma and Celta Vigo prior to Camp Nou return in 2014.

He led the Catalan outfit to two La Liga crowns, three Copa del Rey titles and the UEFA Champions League during a highly successful stint.

Luis guided his national side to the semi-finals of UEFA Euro 2020, meantime, before securing the runners-up spot in the 2020-21 UEFA Nations League.

Ole is expected to be in charge for this weekend’s Premier League clash with Watford at Vicarage Road, where his side will attempt to bounce back from their heavy defeat to Manchester City.
