Zinedine Zidane has been linked with Manchester United strongly for several months, despite repeat claims coming from French sources stating the manager isn’t keen on moving to England, so wouldn’t be rushing for the job at Old Trafford.
This was reported long before Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was shown the exit door at the Premier League club, yet when it was clear the Norwegian would be imminently leaving, the Frenchman was strongly linked again and presented as a prime target.
Spain’s El Partidazo de Cope report there’s been a quick rejection from Zidane. They say there’s two reasons behind this.
Firstly, Zidane’s command of the English language is something holding him back, and, secondly, it’s stated his wife isn’t keen on making the move.
Indeed, according to the claims, the chance of PSG would be appearing on the horizon, and that could present a bigger temptation.
And who should be PSG manager? Mauricio Pochettino, of course.
Fernando Evangelio, the journalist bringing the news, says United want the former Spurs manager, and PSG believe taking Zidane as manager could convince Kylian Mbappe to stay.
Zidane going to Paris, and the Argentine moving to Manchester United would round off the situation nicely, but it’s unlikely to be something which happens quickly.
