There’s really no better way to say it. Like the majority of Man Utd’s acquisitions over the past several campaigns, Antony has not proven successful. The Brazilian’s second season was a complete bust, despite a strong start to his first.

With off-field scandals and inconsistent performance on the field, Antony gradually lost Erik ten Hag’s favor. He is currently lower on the hierarchy than players like Alejandro Garnacho and Amad Diallo.

Jose Mourinho and Fenerbahce are reportedly keen to sign the 24-year-old on a loan deal for this season, according to Fotomac. There is still one week left in Turkey’s transfer season, so there’s a big chance they will make a serious push to sign the South American.

The story even confirms that an agreement to borrow the £200,000 per week would be reached very soon. Mourinho has been utilizing Tadic up to this point because he does not like the right-wing options he currently has in his squad.

The former Ajax player, in the opinion of the renowned Portuguese manager, would make the perfect winger for him. Unless something significantly changes, it appears like the 24-year-old will not be seeing much action at Old Trafford this summer and may be considering a loan move.

Whether Man Utd allows Antony to depart when they are unable to recruit a successor is still up in the air. The Red Devils may not have to let the Brazilian go until January as they haven’t replaced Jadon Sancho. We’ll have to wait and watch how they manage the matter.
