Manchester United are prepared to chase Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi if they fail in the pursuit to sign AS Monaco’s Aurelien Tchouameni.
Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has chalked and changed amongst Scott McTominay, Bruno Fernandes, Fred, and Paul Pogba this season, with Nemanja Matic and Donny van de Beek receiving little to no playing time.
However, the Norwegian may not have the same options next term. The Dutchman is thought to be forcing a transfer in January, while the Frenchman could leave the club at the end of the season after his deal expires.
Nemanja shall turn 34 next year, and with his deal up in 2023, United could churn out some sort of transfer sum next summer if need be.
Given that reinforcements could be due in the middle of the pitch. While they are targeting a deal for Monaco star Tchouameni, the club have made plans for an alternative.
If he does not sign for the Old Trafford outfit, they’ll chase the signature of the Foxes man.
Wilfred has spent a couple of seasons in the Premier League and has bossed the middle of the park at the King Power.
Moreover, the Nigerian also changed agents recently, and it seems he could be departing the Midlands side.
Thus, United would be prepared to provide the 24-year-old player with an exit plan but will have to see off competition from rivals Arsenal.
