For all the talk that Manchester United were playing hardball over the potential loan of Diogo Dalot to AS Roma, there appears to have been some progress of late.
The news comes from Calciomercato, who explain the defender is ‘getting nearer’ from heading towards the Old Trafford exit door, where he would reunite with José Mourinho in Italy.
They claim he has ‘already said yes’ to the move, but the blocking point, as has been reported elsewhere, is that Manchester United ‘first need to receive the yes from Atlético Madrid for the transfer of (Kieran Trippier)’.
If that were to happen, then Dalot would be expected to ‘arrive with the formula of loan with a right of redemption fixed at €15m’.
Funnily enough, they point out that this is the exact same offer put forward by Milan in the summer, but this was refused by Manchester United.
Times have changed since then, and perhaps Atlético’s stance changing regarding the England international might have something to do with it.
