Man United will again send scouts to watch Bayer Leverkusen full-back, Jeremie Frimpong.
Not too long ago, we covered reported Man United interest in Jeremie Frimpong.
The Dutchman, who currently plies his trade for Bayer Leverkusen, is a right-back who is emerging as a serious candidate for a transfer to a bigger club in the not-too-distant future.
From a United standpoint, Diogo Dalot has been doing pretty well in that area of the field lately. However, the Portugal international has a winding down contract. He also cannot do it all on his own…
Aaron Wan-Bissaka isn’t favoured by manager Erik ten Hag, with the gaffer seemingly looking to invest in that area of the field.
The latest update comes from Fabrizio Romano, who confirmed that United will ‘send’ scouts to watch the 21-year-old in the ‘next games’, with the Reds having eyes on Frimpong. They’ll also face competition from Chelsea.
Frimpong is someone who absolutely fits the Ten Hag system. He can contribute at a high level on both sides of the ball, while he can press when required.
Aged just 21, Frimpong still has plenty of room to develop and grow as a footballer, while we’ve seen that Ten Hag is a coach who can get the absolute best out of his players.
In terms of a January transfer, I’d imagine a deal is unlikely. Leverkusen aren’t going to want to let a prized asset leave in the mid-season window, while I’m not really sure how much money United will give the gaffer to spend…
