Frenkie de Jong is likely to be on the market once again in January, with Barcelona thought to be “interested in a large sale”, according to Sport.
The Catalan publication claims that, despite getting more game time in recent fixtures, the Dutchman is one of seven players who could be offloaded by Barca.
De Jong has confirmed that he refused to leave the Camp Nou in the summer, despite reports that United had agreed an €85m (£73m) fee for the player.
Whether the Red Devils will have the cash to fund a move for 25-year-old in the January transfer window, it is unlikely, considering the amount that was shelled out on the likes of Casemiro and Antony.
However, if he doesn’t end up at Old Trafford, de Jong could still find himself playing in the Premier League, with it being claimed that both Chelsea and Liverpool hold a strong interest in the Netherlands international.
